Laptop Maintenance - Fan Cleaning & Changing thermal paste of an old Laptop (Lenovo 505s)

In this post, I will share how to maintain a laptop for better performance.

First, remove the battery & back cover

Next, remove the fan & the heatsink 

Next, remove all the old thermal paste from the heat sink & the CPU & GPU with IPA solution

Next, add some thermal paste with high conductivity to CPU & GPU

Next, install the heatsink & secure it with screw (While tightening the screw always do in cross pattern )

Next, remove the outer case of the Fan and clean the fan blades with a brush to remove the dust.

After cleaning the fan install the fan & secure it with the screw

After installing the fan install the back cover & battery.
